Alastair Durkin awarded the status of Fellow of the Arboricultural Association

After passing a rigorous application process Alastair has been awarded the status of Fellow of the Arboricultural Association.

Fellow membership is the very highest level of professional recognition the Arboricultural Association awards outside of its accreditation schemes. Fellow membership demonstrates a significant level of expertise, experience, dedication and contribution to the industry as a whole.

In applying for Fellowship applicants must demonstrate the highest level of accomplishment during their career. The criteria that is assessed by the Association's Professional Committee includes:

  • Length of Professional Membership – minimum 5 years

  • Professional experience and expertise

  • Personal, professional and management responsibilities

  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

  • Academic study or specialist skills

  • Contribution to the arboricultural profession in shaping policy and practice

  • Contribution to the arboricultural profession through the dissemination of skills and knowledge

  • Supporting statements from two referees
